CRL’s Single Point Mooring System (SPM) will be the first petroleum handling project of this type in Pakistan. Up till now all the petroleum products are being imported and exported through onshore oil berths and oil jetties available at Karachi Port and FOTCO oil terminal located at Port Qasim. But after the installation of SPM a convenient and economical facility will be available to country’s oil industry to import or export large quantities of petroleum products.

The SPM facility with available depth of 28 Meters has a capacity of handling large size oil tankers up to 300,000 tons. The SPM shall be used for receiving crude oil / other products & delivering petroleum products through a submarine pipeline 15 km in length connecting the buoy with the on shore terminal. The SPM system will take care of the needs of existing refineries and industries

Located in Hub Area and also the new refineries which are likely to come up in a foreseeable future. The SPM has the operational capability of facilitating a through put approximately at the rate of 3,000 tons per hour. The daily average handling capability of the system is 72,000 tons. With the additional time which will be required for handling of each ship, the annual capacity of the system is expected to be approximately 25 million tons.

CRL's plans is to develop khalifa point as the single some supply Chain management center to handle approximately 10-15 Million Tons Deficit product imports handling, storage and connectivity C&G pipeline to closest available pipeline metevorle. With available deapt of 28 on CRL's Oil terminal is the best places to handle and address Platoon’s import represents by bringing large cargo venal having substantial economics and save tremendous foreign CA changes.
