He is a Law graduate and has extensive work experience of about 38 years. He started his career in packages limited. Later on he joined National Fertilizer Corporation in 1974 a Corporation under the control of Ministry of Production, Govt of Pakistan. After spending 2 years in NFC in different capacities he was transferred to Pak Saudi Fertilizer, where he was in charge of local and foreign procurement as well as Personnel / Administration. He was posted at Milan where his job responsibility entailed arranging shipment and expediting short shipped material by different International suppliers.
He was again transferred as G.M In charge in NFC, Karachi in 1985, where he looked after the overall supervision and clearance of 450,000 M tons of material pertaining to different projects of NFC. He rendered assistance in chartering vessels for transportation of rock phosphate and sulphur. He liaised with Government agencies such as Customs, Railways, KPT and TCP etc. and all Ministries in Islamabad for obtaining import licenses, opening of L/Cs and miscellaneous permissions from State Bank of Pakistan and Investment Promotion Bureau etc.
He attended many courses like London Executive Programme, London Business School & Advance Management Program organized by Harvard University in collaboration with PIM.
He opted for voluntary retirement by availing golden hand shake in May, 2002, when he was in grade Director I (equivalent to BPS 22). |
